Ideal for European Day of Languages or as a multi-language activity to demonstrate links between languages.
A fun resource for pupils to discover links between languages whilst solving the mystery. Activities cover transport vocabulary in a variety of languages, exploring departure boards, categorising languages into language families, matching country names and an odd-one-out quiz to discover the final destination. Pupils are asked to find clues in order to help their neighbour find his brother who is somewhere in Europe. Pupils are given a scenario and a bucket list of possible locations. They then work through the activities to find clues which allow them to eliminate locations and ultimately find the destination.
Some research is involved in translating vocabulary from various languages so I would recommend having devices on hand to help students.
A teacher guide with instructions and answers is included, which would make the mystery an ideal cover lesson.

Bucket list, pupil instructions and 5 activities
Extension task: word search for early finishers
